Gernika, 80 years after the bombing
On April 26, 1937 the German and Italian planes of the Condor Legion bombed the Biscayan town of Gernika-Lumo, destroying 90% of its buildings. During its reconstruction the layout of the streets was considerably altered. Nowadays there are hardly any buildings from that period in the center of the town that can be used as a reference for photographing the bombing sites. The elaboration of this itinerary has counted on the advice of Vicente del Palacio, from the local history group Gernikazarra and the collaboration of Jesús Díez.
